Ricky Stuart has officially quit as coach of the Parramatta Eels.
After weeks of speculation, Ricky will be going back to Canberra following his activation of a get out clause in his contract.
I have a few very brief comments to make before doing a more detailed analysis tomorrow.
First of all. I hate liars. When asked about the speculation straight out over the last few days, Ricky had said that he had not spoken to Canberra. This is clearly an absolute an utter lie. I knew this to be a lie, most supporters knew this to be a lie. Ricky should have had more respect for the fans than this.
I am also disappointed in the Board that signed him. I question the negotiation of a one year get out clause and see this situation as a direct result of poor negotiation.
Finally, who can blame Ricky? Following the difficulty at the Eels at a board level at the moment and the difficult season we have had, the position is not one for the faint hearted.
